Birthday Delights

{Milly skirt, Limited shirt, Coach wedges, Kate Spade clutch, Madewell bracelet, Banana Republic necklace}

Last week I turned another year older. To celebrate Mr. C and I went out for some tapas at Azucar - a restaurant we've never been to in our old neighborhood. Afterwords we decided to catch a film at a local theater. It was a perfect night with just a two of us. I think we need to bring these date nights back into our lives. I didn't realize how much I was missing them.

 This Milly skirt is probably the prettiest piece in my closet. Despite that, I always hesitated wearing it, waiting for that special occasion. Even as I wore it for our birthday date I kept envisioning some tomato sauce covered meatball landing on my lap, ruining my skirt forever. Or me accidentally plopping on some soda covered movie theater seat. Or it's hem getting stuck in the car door. I mean, it's a possibility, right? Does wearing the most precious item in your closet ever make you feel paranoid about ruining it?

{A very special treat for myself from my June wishlist}

{I think they fit right in}

{And one from Mr. C}

{These healthy but oh so delicious cookies were waiting for me downstairs the next morning.}

  1. Happy Belated Birthday!

    Looks like the perfect birthday date.

    That skirt is darling. I can see why you were worried about it.

    Personally I'm trying to get over the idea of ruining clothing by wearing it. We bought it to wear it. It'd be a shame to only wear it when we are laying in our casket.

  2. So glad you decided to wear your Milly skirt, it is absolutely delightful, beautiful and stunning. I would be wearing that thing a lot! Better to show it off and enjoy the beauty of it than keep it hidden with worry.
    Love how you celebrate yourself, good choice!
    Happy one year older, beautiful lady!

  3. Happy birthday! You look lovely, and the skirt is gorgeous! I have never (knock wood) permanently ruined a beloved piece of clothing- most things wash out, right? Er...but I do always make sure to use a large lap napkin if possible!

    1. Thank you for the birthday wish! Luckily this place had very large napkins so I made sure the skirt was all covered up. It survived the outing!
