{Zara blazer, JCrew sweater, jeans and pumps, Banana Republic mini handbag, JewelMint necklace}

Spring has been a bit hesitant to show it's face here in the Windy City, so I've decided to protest by wearing an array of soft pastel hues lately. Now will you please hurry up, Spring, and hit us with a full swing.

Simple Delights

{Tabletop gems}

Finally, those Crate & Barrel gift cards I've been carrying around for several years were put to use. These pretty shot glasses are just what I've been looking for.

{Bear in the North - my favorite Lithuanian candy I was lucky enough to find in the US.}

Over the years the packaging of these yummy treats have changed, but the taste remains the same. With just one bite I'm transported back to my childhood.

{I'm a little teapot short and stout}

This little old teapot not only serves as kitchen decor but is also perfect for watering plants.

{Blooms for the wrist.}

Easter Breakfast

Ever since I moved to the US in my very early twenties, I admittedly have stopped celebrating most of the holidays (with an exception of Christmas). I haven't been motivated to keep up the traditions when my family is oceans apart. Easter is one holiday I stopped embracing. In fact, the last couple of years I literally forgot about it. I repeatedly went shopping, as if it was any other Sunday, only to find empty parking lots. I'm quite embarrassed by such forgetfulness and this year I made a decision to put at least a minimum amount of effort into keeping traditions alive in our home. To stick with the plan this Easter, I had to do something I've never done before - coloring eggs (unless adorning them with marker drawn stick figures at the age of 5 counts). Considering my lack of experience, I was anticipating all sorts of disasters. Surprisingly, the experiment worked out just fine. None of the eggs cracked while boiling, despite slightly overcooking them they still tasted fine, and the color didn't seep through the shell too much. My first batch of colored eggs a success! I should pat myself on the back. To complete our Easter breakfast, we also got a loaf of challah bread and of course some fresh, warm chocolate chip cookies. Hope you all had a wonderful sunny Easter!
